Themes & Variations Doilies

       Themes and Variations Doilies pattern booklet was published by Annie's Attic, LLC, in 1997. Included are patterns for 10 different doilies of various shapes, sizes, and colors: Circle of Roses, African Violets, Rose Strop, Buttercup, Butterfly, Table Runner, Peaches & Cream, Ice Crystals, Wedgewood Rose, and Circle of Roses. All are crocheted in motifs, using size 10 crochet cotton. You can probably tell from the number of patterns and variations presented that I really had fun making these!

       I also used these motifs for my Rose Banquet Tablecloth (Annie's Crochet Newsletter No. 95, September-October 1998), my Spiral Rose Tablecloth (Crocheted Tablecloth Elegance, Annie's Attic, 1998, and my Poinsettia Blossoms Doilies and Coasters Set (Annie's Crochet Newsletter No. 78, November-December 1995). And did I mention I tried it in fingering yarn and came up with my Pinwheel Baby Afghans (Annie's Attic Crochet Quilt and Afghan Club, in 1998).

       NOTE: I didn't realize it until an astute customer pointed it out to me, but in 2016, Annie's used the motif once again for the "Circle of Stars" afghan in their Doily Afghans pattern book!
