ALERT: 20 SEPTEMBER NATIONAL PUPPY MILL AWARENESS DAY!

One Day, One Voice

Several national animal welfare organizations have teamed up to organize National Puppy Mill Awareness Day. Everyone who wants an end to the suffering in puppy and pet mills is encouraged to participate in helping to educate his/her community to the realities of the pet industry.

Participation can be individual or by organization; as elaborate as planning a pet store protest or as simple as wearing your orange No More Puppy Mills tee shirt or your Stop The Suffering lapel button (modeled above by anti-puppy mill spokesdog, Bentley). If nothing else, please consider tacking up one of our printable signs, fact sheets, or flyers on the bulletin board at work, your favorite vet or pet supply store, or anyplace else you can think of where people gather (always asking permission first, of course!).

The Puppy Mill Awareness Day website contains ideas, sample press releases & letters to the editor, excellent suggestions on dealing effectively with the media, downloadable flyers, and a calendar showing Events around the country. These resources will be a valuable asset to fighting puppy mills every day of the year, so you may want to bookmark the site.

Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project will be holding its awareness event in conjunction with the THORP DOG AUCTION PROTEST on the 24th -- because, despite the national outreach on the 20th, the dogs at Thorp need our voices on the 24th!
